![]() For example, Sims assigned to Sales (helping convince the customer he needs the item he's checking out) will need high charisma. The higher the equivalent job skill, the faster a Sim will earn a badge. Every action that can earn you a talent badge is in some way connected to a job skill. Speaking of job skills, they play a vital role in Talent Badges. Sims do not earn badges for cooking any cooking (whether for selling the meals or cooking at restaurant) is fully determined by the chef's Cooking job skill. Sims are not limited to what badges they can earn, and can essentially have gold badges in all activities. There is nothing beyond gold: no "platinum" or anything. They then range from bronze, to silver, to gold. The first is, naturally, no Talent Badge. So what are these Talent Badges we've been talking about? They are badges expressing that a given Sim has developed a certain talent.īadges essentially have four levels. Your employees will head in there when it's break time, and will become pretty happy again to finish out the day. Give it a bathroom, small fridge, something fun like a TV, and so on. Using creative door locks, you can zone off an employees-only area for these purposes. You can order him to get back to work any time, but you should wait until he's done. Just tell a Sim to "Take a Break," and he'll go off and take care of his needs. Employees have their needs too, and will need trips to the bathroom as so on. This ranges from green to red as their mood declines, like the regular crystal (which Maxis calls a "plumbob"). While and employee is on your lot, he'll have a colored circle above his head. Employees can naturally quit on their own as well. Do this unless the employee did something really drastic (or unless you simply don't like them). On the other hand, you can just "Lay Off," which essentially tells the employee that you can't afford them anymore. You can fire them, which has several consequences, including damaging relationship meters. ![]() You can also use "Management." to axe them, but there are two ways to do it. Keep working that relationship meter as much as possible. Even once you hire someone, don't be stingy with your feelings. ![]() Everyone has worked for a person they didn't like, after all and those same people wished to get out of that job as quickly as possible. Speaking of relationships, employees and employers need to be on good terms. Sims who have a decent relationship to begin with tend to be able to hire each other more easily. If you decline to hire them then, you will not suffer any relationship penalty. If they accept, you'll see the same talent list you do on the candidate screen consider this the job interview. They may outright reject you, which will lower relationship scores all around. If you and your target are on the same lot, just select them and use the "Hire" social interaction. The list will be unchanged until the next Sim day, so if you don't find a fit, just don't hire anyone and try again tomorrow.Īlternatively, you can attempt to hire someone you know. You can hire any or all of the candidates from the list. ![]() If you need a high-talent chef for a restaurant however, you'll need someone with extremely high marks in the Cooking job skill (possibly even a perfect 10). For example, an entry-level job (such as restocking or cashiering) will not require much in the way of skill, and thus not much in wages. This helps you quickly narrow down the candidates. ![]() You shouldn't seek to hire someone unless you know ahead of time what they're going to do. Hiring is much like it is in the real world. ![]()
